On October 8, 2024, the Day of the Unborn Child (the human being who has not yet been born and is still in the mother's womb) was celebrated. The day before, a tribute, entitled “Technology for Life”, was held at the Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary. Dr. Heron Werner, responsible for fetal medicine at Dasa in Rio de Janeiro and one of the coordinators of the BIODESIGN laboratory, a partnership between Dasa and PUC-Rio, performed an ultrasound exam on a pregnant woman. The 3D images of the baby were projected on a large screen.
The public was also able to hear the sound of the baby's heart and, at the same time, watch a beautiful projection on the Christ the Redeemer monument, which ended with the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The ultrasound equipment used was Samsung's HERA W10, which has powerful diagnostic tools for Obstetrics and Gynecology, including the ability to produce ultra-realistic three-dimensional images of the fetus and advanced features for women's health.
